Claim
Some Facebook users have published a video where they claimed that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has apologised to Natasha Akpoti-Uduanghan, Senator representing Kogi Central.

Background
Two weeks ago, the Senate President and the female Senator had a new disagreement during a plenary where the Akpabio had ordered the sergeant at arms of the red chamber to move Akpoti-Uduanghan out over wrong seating arrangements.
The Senate President said the female lawmaker disrespected the rules of the Senate but Natasha argued that Akpabio was rude and had been preventing her from contributing to debates on the floor of the Senate.
She maintained that the President of the Senate could not stop her from performing her functions as an elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Senator accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and victimisation during a live interview on Arise TV.
Pursuing her rights, Natasha has instituted a case against the Senate President. However, the wife of the Senate President who reacted to the development said the female lawmaker was creating content for her pleasure, saying the accusation against her husband was false. She has equally approached the court to seek redress against Senator Akpoti-Uduanghan.
Verification
Considering the conversations around the claim on social media, DailyAgent Check conducted searches to find out if the Senate President had truly apologised to the female lawmaker.
We also found that the video being circulated is an old video of the first disagreement that happened on the floor of the Senate between Akpabio and Apoti-Uduanghan in July 2024. The video clip was the apology of the Senate President widely published last year. In the video, Akpabio apologised for his comment using ‘nigh-club’ when referring to Natasha of Kogi Central.
Verdict
The claim is COMPLETELY FALSE!
